Künstlerischer Schwerpunkt
In meinen Arbeiten beschäftige ich mich mit dem grundlegenden Prinzip der Wandlung und den Beziehungen innerhalb von Prozessen sowie den Verbindungen zwischen dem Menschen und dem Mehr-als-menschlichen. Ich verstehe das Leben besser, wenn ich den ständigen Wandel von Formen, Beziehungen und Bedingungen betrachte. Was steckt in dem Prozess, wenn eine »Form« verschwindet und eine neue entsteht. In meiner künstlerischen Praxis gehe ich dafür eine materielle Beziehung zu Dingen ein und suche und spüre den Facetten des Wandels nach, wühle dabei in der Vagheit und versuche so die Natürlichkeit des Vergehens nachzuvollziehen.
Meine Installationen basieren auf praktischer Recherche, häufig durch natürliche Prozesse angeregt, und münden zunächst in ein Setting, dass von mir inszeniert wird. Im Präsentationsverlauf lade ich die Betrachter*innen zum Verweilen ein. Sie können beobachten wie sich die künstliche Situation, in der ihr innewohnenden Zeit und durch Material und Raum bedingt, verändert. In weiteren Arbeiten, gesammelt unter dem Titel „archive of the ephemeral“, zeige ich einen einzelnen Moment eines vergangenen und von mir initiierten Prozesses anhand eines Fotos.
Meine Ideen entwickeln sich aus der Beobachtung heraus. So ist mein Tun eines, dass Zeit lässt für Stille und Innehalten. Daraus heraus ergeben sich Erfahrungen voller Dynamik, die ich versuche in meinen Installationen erlebbar zu machen.
Artiststatement
I am an artist with installative, performative and photographic output. In my work I deal with the basic principle of change and the relationships within processes. During this confrontation it became clear to me that the relationship between the human being and the more-than-human in this day and age needs a special focus.
I understand life better when I look at the constant change of forms, relationships and conditions. What is in the process when a „form“ disappears and a new one emerges. In my artistic practice, I enter into a material relationship with things for this purpose, searching and tracing the facets of change, digging into vagueness and thus trying to comprehend the naturalness of passing.
My installations are based on my own practical research work, often inspired by natural processes, and initially culminate in a setting that is staged by me. In the course of the presentation, I invite the viewers to linger. They can observe how the artificial situation changes in the time inherent in it and conditioned by material and space. In other works, collected under the title „archive of the ephemeral“, I show a single moment of a past process initiated by me by means of a photograph.
My ideas develop out of observation. Thus my work is one that allows time for stillness and pause. This results in experiences full of dynamics, which I try to make tangible in my installations.
